    "Pleaaaaase? It's so pretty! Please, please, please get it for me?" Never get a needy girlfriend. It's impossible to keep up with her. It's been about five years now... you might ask why I stay with her. That's largely because I'm taking responsibility for making her a woman. Well, that makes it sound like I took her virginity, that isn't it, although now that I think about it that does apply as well. See, I was working on my chemisty degree, years ahead of college, and concocted something that I thought would cure any skin disease better than any other drug. But it didn't. I used it on one of my closest friends and turned him... into a her. And it was a real shakeup for her. A really hard time that I did all I could to help her through. One thing led to another and... we were dating. I promised her...

    "Didn't you promise me you would take responsibility?" Well, that. And she never forgot. She always brought up my big ol' romantic confession from that day. I didn't regret it though.

    "Of course I did, but don't you think buying whatever cute thing you want isn't really under that umbrella?" Things were getting expensive. I loved her, no doubt about it. And realistically I would say yes no matter what, but come on!

    "Well... Can't you go without just this one item? We've been shopping all day long!" Of course, I had my own reasons for shooting down what she wanted, I had to save money!

    "Awww... Okay..." She looked up at me... dammit, those eyes!

    "Fine, just this once though! Seriously I need to save!" I had been working really hard to make extra recently.

    "What do you need to save for?" It had been a hard secret to keep but... I wanted to take my responsibility one step further. Things were going well at work and... I want to get married. Trying to keep that hidden from her was impossible. I wanted to tell her every time she looked at me.

    "Ahaha.... nothing! Nothing. I love you!" I was never going to be able to afford a wedding ring at this point! Fortunately she was none the wiser... I did just have her help me find her ring size though. That might have given it away.

    "Sure... I love you." That smile... that knowing smile. Ah, who cares if she knows. That mistake might have been the nail in the coffin, but as long as she said yes, it didn't matter. I know I said never to get a needy girlfriend but... I wouldn't change a thing.
