TGAR Caption: A New Daughter (Part 1)

A New Daughter (Part 1)

"Karen! Wake up!" Liam shouted at his wife in his newfound feminine voice.
"What... who are you?" Naturally, Karen had no idea who she was looking at. She looked sort of like their daughter, but she wasn't her.
"Who am I? I'm your husband! And I've turned into a girl!"
"Mom? What's going on? Who's she?" Beatrice- or as they called her Bea, was their daughter, clearly confused at the absence of her dad and the young girl in their house.
Liam and Karen then went on to spend the next couple hours panicking, after sending their daughter off to school. Somehow, Liam had become a young girl. Appearance wise, she looked just how another daughter of theirs would look, if they had ever had one. Gender-swapping technology existed, but it wasn't easy to come by, or cheap by any means. What had happened shouldn't be possible. They called up the company for answers, but they said their machines didn't have a method for regressing age anyways, whatever had happened was probably magical in nature and likely irreversible. That doesn't mean they gave up hope, but it did mean they had to figure out what to do with Liam in the mean time.
Liam tried to just stay home and do nothing, not wanting to be seen. Swap corp. said they would try to figure out a cure or the means in which he changed. But that got old really fast. Karen was at work, and Liam just wallowed in despair. Until that wore off and he was just laying there.
"Goodness dear, you're a mess. I know you don't want to, but we at least have to do your hair." Karen then did her hair. It was annoying. But after she washed and did it, and got some of Bea's old clothes for Liam to wear...
"Wow." Liam was really cute, actually. Something about seeing that face in the mirror really creeped him out, but the stun of seeing how he looked nullified that, if only for a second.
"What do you think? I think you look great dear." Karen was clearly proud of her work, Bea wouldn't let her mom do this for her anymore, she didn't need help anyways. "In any case, swap corp. called, and they said we need to get you legally registered. I can't just have a nameless daughter hiding in my house for much longer."
"Doesn't that feel like admitting defeat?" Liam didn't want to take up a new name, or have the government register him as well, a her. But he didn't have much choice, he didn't want to be taken into government custody or anything if they thought he was some random girl.
"Well, sort of, but we can't keep calling a cute girl like you Liam, or hiding you away in our house, for that matter." The two of them went and got Liam all set up. He needed a new name though. Liam wouldn't do for some reason. "How about... Lexi? It's sort of similar? And I think it's cute."
"Sure, whatever, Lexi." And so, Lexi was "born" an ambiguous aged middle school girl, they didn't really know how old she exactly was yet. "Lexi" was Karen's daughter, and Bea's younger sister, and her "dad" was gone on a business trip. Things were only going to get more complicated.
