Put in Her Place (Part 5)
""Dad" we have to talk." I had something really important to bring to Alexa.
"Is this about my relationship with Sharon?" Now calling her by her first name now, huh?
"What else could it possibly be about? You're hardly making any effort of hiding it these days."
"Dad" moved a little shyly, clearly he wasn't doing as good as he thought. "But--"
"Wait, hold on. I'm not about to tell you off for it." With a deep breath, I prepared myself for what I was about to say. "You can have whatever relationship you want with "Mom" truth is, I don't know what to think any more." This stupid body made me so much more susceptible to emotions. Not that that was bad but... I didn't want to cry. "I've been thinking to myself. A lot. It really doesn't seem like there is any way that we can get things to return to the way they were. And the worst part about it? I'm not so sure that I'm upset about that. Sometimes, I like being you... I'm so sorry..."
"Awww... Alexa come here." Dad pulled me into a hug. A fatherly embrace I hadn't really ever felt before. "It's okay. I'm not mad at you, and I'm not unhappy the way I am. Not that I need to tell you this... but I'm happy this way. I just hope we can find a way for you to be too, but it sounds like you've taken the first step."
"Thanks. Thanks Dad..." I relaxed in his arms, Alexa is so grown up and mature now.
"Awww! Dad! You called me Dad! No hesitation and totally serious!" He sure acts like a Dad now. "Listen, if you need anything, come to me. Or your Mom, she would be a good source too, but I'm an expert on that body. Lets find something to cheer you up, a hobby, go out and buy some clothes..." That would be nice, I thought. "Or maybe we could talk about a boy?" I tensed up in his arms- shoot, he felt that. "Oh my gosh! My girl has interest in a boy! You have to tell me all about him."
